Ramsay Health Plus located at Mt Wilga Private Hospital in Hornsby, is a National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Registered Provider. Our team is proud to support people with a permanent and significant disability to reach their goals.
Physiotherapy
Our physiotherapists aim to help NDIS participants build their physical capacity, in order to address their NDIS goals. Our physiotherapists are able to provide comprehensive assessments and treatment plans. They are able to work on transfers, manual handling, strength balance, endurance and can develop Home Exercise Plans for support workers to follow.
Our physiotherapists are experienced in a broad range of permanent neurological and neurodegenerative conditions, as well as developmental disabilities, spinal injuries and disabilities and many rare conditions.
Physiotherapy sessions may be land-based or water-based depending on the participants NDIS goals and associated needs. We have 2 accessible hydrotherapy pools on-site.
Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapists (OT) aim to assist participants achieve their NDIS goals by addressing various components of occupational performance such as self-care, productivity, leisure activities and rest/sleep.
Our OT’s are able to complete Functional Capacity Assessments, Assistive Technology assessments, Support Independent Living (SIL) assessments, Home/Environmental Assessments, Manual Handling Assessments, Sensory Assessments and a range of cognitive assessments to assist participants to make progress towards achieving their NDIS goals.
OT’s also provide a wide variety of intervention strategies including evidence based upper limb retraining, various compensatory strategies, minor home modifications, cognitive retraining strategies, emotional and sensory regulation, meal preparation skills training and other independent living skills training. Our OT’s have extensive Assistive Technology knowledge and experience including complex Seating and Positioning for manual and power wheelchair prescriptions.
Speech Therapy
Our team of speech pathologists (SP) support participants with communication challenges and swallowing difficulties. They are skilled in assessing and treating a range of related disorders, helping participants work towards their NDIS goals.
Our speech pathologists (SP's) can develop Mealtime Management Plans and complete reviews for participants who require modified diets. They also provide a range of communication assessments and can advise on augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) methods, supporting participants to use these strategies effectively. Treatment may include strategies to improve social communication skills, as well as voice fluency, volume and rate. Our SP's also work closely with our occupational therapists (OT's) to support emotional regulation and sensory needs.
Exercise Physiology
Our exercise physiologists (EP) prescribe individualised exercise programs and health and lifestyle education to improve physical ability and overall health and wellbeing. Our EP gym is an inclusive space where NDIS Participants feel welcome as they work alongside others receiving EP programs in the outpatient setting. Our EP’s have knowledge of a range of disabilities such as muscular dystrophy, spina bifida, Downs syndrome, Parkinson’s disease, MS and other complex neurological conditions that require a tailored approach to exercise prescription.
Dietetics
Our dietitians help participants make dietary choices that result in better health. Our dieticians are skilled in conducting Nutritional Assessments for disability-related nutrition needs. The are also skilled in developing disability-related Meal Plans. Our team has an in-depth understanding of the factors that can lead to poor nutrition for people with disabilities. Our dieticians also have a strong role in participant advocacy and education of formal supports in relation to nutrition and food choices.
Psychology
Our psychologists work with NDIS participants to improve their overall wellbeing, including capacity building, motivation, decision making and building positive relationships.
Other Allied Health Assistance
Our multidisciplinary team can help with driving assessments, social work assistance, and can provide allied health assistants to carry out exercise programs on-site.
Community Engagement Groups
Our team offers Community Engagement Assistance to support participants to build confidence, strengthen social connections and improve interactions within their support networks. Through a group-based approach, participants are encouraged to work towards their goals, develop greater insight into their lives and make informed decisions. Our Community Engagement Groups provide a welcoming and supportive environment that participants enjoy attending.
