The value of exercise following a cancer diagnosis

There has been a lot of research into the effects of exercise for people going through cancer treatment. Evidence now suggests that movement and activity are key factors in helping combat many of the side effects of treatment such as fatigue, muscle weakness, lymphoedema and low mood. Combined with a healthy balanced diet, exercise can help prevent a recurrence of cancer too.

It has everything going for it and according to the COSA, (2021), exercise should be prescribed for all cancer patients.

Ramsay Health Plus, Mt Wilga, can offer Activate, a tailored cancer rehab program. Contact us for further information about cancer rehabilitation.
