Mt Wilga Recognised For Excellence In Older Care Rehabilitation

At Mt Wilga Private Hospital, located in Hornsby, providing rehabilitation care for people living in our community is all we do and we pride ourselves on our patients living the best life possible after an illness, accident or surgery. We are very proud of being nominated as one of six finalists in the <strong>Asia Pacific Eldercare Innovations Awards for 2015 for Best Rehabilitation Operator</strong>.

Mt Wilga has a dedicated program for older adults with complex care needs. The program is designed to achieve patient centred goals with the medical, nursing, physiotherapy, occupational therapy and other allied health teams focussing on building muscle strength, increasing mobility, cognition exercises, helping with socialisation in the community, domestic and personal care retraining and nutrition.

In 2013-2014, Mt Wilga cared for 517 older patients and over 89% returned to their previous level of accommodation at the end of their hospital stay. All of our patients received comprehensive discharge planning to help make the transition back home even easier and safer.
