What is it?
It’s a program designed to meet an individual’s rehabilitation needs which will help their recovery and assist them to live independently in the community or prepare them to return to leisure, work or other lifestyle pursuits.
Could I benefit from the Mt Wilga day program?
Yes. Any person who requires ongoing treatment to promote their recovery following surgery, injury or illness can benefit from this program.
What does the program involve?
Programs vary depending on the needs of the patient but may include physiotherapy, occupational therapy, hydrotherapy, gym class and groups such as Spine Care Class and Ready Steady falls prevention.
How often do I come?
Once you have been discharged from the hospital, most patients come back twice a week for several weeks, but this can vary depending on your treatment needs and your doctor’s recommendations.
Who pays for it?
In most instances your health fund will cover the cost of the program. We always check with the health fund to make sure there is no excess or co-payments, and if there are, we discuss this with you before proceeding.
Is transport provided?
Transport options are available. Call the Day Program office to discuss your requirements.
