How to Refer a Patient

We accept the following patients for admission:

  • Private Patients
  • Any patients with private hospital insurance cover

  • Self Insured Patients
  • Bed fees will be faxed to prospective patients prior to admission wherever possible

  • Workers Compensation/Third Party
  • Persons claiming workers compensation or third party damages can be admitted once approval has been obtained from their insurance company.

  • Overseas Patients
  • Persons from overseas can be admitted once approval has been obtained from their insurance company.

  • Veterans Affairs Patients
  • Veterans and War Widows can be admitted to the hospital.

Mt Wilga's admissions officer is happy to help you with any aspect of the referral and admission process.  We can provide you with a full range of information regarding our rehabilitation programs.

Patients who self refer will require a consultation with one of our Rehabilitation Consultants prior to admission

Rehabilitation programs are provided in inpatient, day patient and outpatient settings.

Inpatient Rehabilitation

  • Is suitable for persons who are medically fragile, have functional disability, need the support of a medical facility and nursing care or have no access to day/outpatient services

Day Rehabilitation

  • Is suitable for persons who have established rehabilitation needs but do not need the support of inpatient medical or nursing care

Outpatient Services

  • Is suitable for those persons who have rehabilitation or discipline specific needs but who do not require the coordination of a Rehabilitation Consultant or rehabilitation team
  • Additional Outpatient Services include:
    • Exercise programs
    • Hydrotherapy
    • Feldenkrais
    • Foot clinic
    • Pain management
    • Physiotherapy
    • Occupational therapy
    • Driver Education and Evaluation Program
    • Falls prevention programs
    • Wound management

Other FAQ’s

Does Mt Wilga have accommodation for Day patients who don’t live in close proximity to your hospital?

Yes, we have self care accommodation at the hospital. This can be arranged through the Executive Manager, Day Program on 9847 5256

Do you organise transport for Day patients?

Yes, we can organise transport at a cost for our Day Patients and this can be arranged through the Day Program office on 9847 5086.

DVA Patients can access DVA Transport as well.

Day Program participants need to be independent and self caring. Should a Day Patient require a carer, a family member/friend is required to attend to assist them move between therapy locations.
