For Patients: Information regarding your account

Information regarding your account

Your Account

Our staff will be happy to answer any questions you may have regarding your account.

Patients covered by private health insurance

Prior to admission your health insurance details are obtained and you will be given a quote of hospital charges. You will be asked to sign claim forms so that we can claim from the fund on your behalf. On discharge you will be required to pay any costs not covered by your health fund.

Self funded patients

Self funded patients are required to pay the estimated cost of their hospitalisation on admission. On discharge any extra costs incurred will need to be paid.

Third party/workers compensation claims

All patients requiring rehabilitation due to a work or road accident who are claiming compensation, must have liability accepted for costs incurred by their insurance company prior to being admitted to the Hospital. All accounts will be forwarded to your insurance company on your behalf.

Department of Veteran Affairs patients

Mt Wilga is accredited by the Department of Veterans Affairs as a Tier 1 facility. As a gold card holder you will not require prior approval from DVA for admission.

Medicare accounts

For some services, such as medical visits, x-ray and pathology you may receive separate accounts, or we will bill Medicare on your behalf. Any cheques sent to you by Medicare for these services should be sent to the hospital along with any outstanding amount. You may be able to claim this outstanding amount from your health fund.

Method of Payment

We accept credit cards, Eftpos, cheques and cash to settle accounts.
